AN OCTAGONAL YELLOW-GROUND IRON-RED-DECORATED 'KUI-DRAGON' VASE
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The exterior of the vase is finely decorated with a band of archaistic kui-dragons in iron-red, set between pale blue pendant lappets around the neck and the tall flared foot. The mouth rim is mounted with gilt-metal depicting stylised lotus flower heads amidst scrolling foliage, with seven apertures for holding floral sprays. The base is glazed in turquoise.

Provenance
Acquired in Haifa, Israel, in the late 1960s and thence by descent to the current owner.
