The vase is of compressed globular form and is richly decorated to the exterior with a writhing five-clawed dragon amongst swirling clouds. There are four iron-red bats surrounding the foot and a shou character to either side of the bulbous section of the garlic neck. There is an apocryphal Qianlong four-character mark to the base.
