Lot Essay

The hall mark Yang he tang zhi may be translated as 'the Hall for Cultivating Harmony'. This hall mark was used from the Yongzheng period (1723-1735) to the Jiaqing period (1796-1820).
Compare the current lot with a pair of saucer-dishes of very similar decoration, also with Yang he tang zhi hall marks which sold at Christie's, Hong Kong, 30 May 2012, lot 3993.
