QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON-RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The cup is modelled with moulded sides simulating the form of a ruyi-head, supported on six ruyi-shaped feet. The pair of handles to the sides are formed as ruyi sceptres, with the exterior of the vessel decorated with birds perching on flowering branches of peony, prunus and peach blossom. The six feet, twin handles, and mouth rim are all highlighted in gilt.
