A PAIR OF CARVED AND STAINED IVORY TABLE SCREENS AND STANDS
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Each rectangular panel is finely carved and stained to one side with figures in a garden scene under tall trees. The reverse side is decorated with a cartouche containing an inscription, above objects of scholarly interest. Each stand is supported on four feet and is delicately carved and pierced with floral patterns and leafy scrolls, and the vertical posts are surmounted by seated Buddhistic lions, supported on four feet.
