with a three-quater length portrait of a young lady, her arms folded across her breast, turning to her right, wearing blue dress and a thin veil, among clouds reserved with putti heads, within a gilt band with a raised diamond pattern band below pink and blue ground arched panels gilt with scrolling foliage alternating with clret-ground panels gilt with vignettes of birds, serpents and a hare, signed, titled Liebesleid to the reverse, footrim pierced for hanging, blue beehive mark -- 15 1/8in. (38.5cm.) high, late 19th/20th century (some very minor scratches)
