A BROWN AND BEIGE JADE 'MYTHICAL BEAST' VASE AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
The beast is modelled standing on four feet, with a loose ring handle suspended from its mouth. The vase is flanked by the beast's outstretched wings, with its tail curled upwards. The cover is surmounted by a finial in the form of a stylised kui-dragon. The stone is of an olive tone with brown inclusions and darker areas.
