A GILT-DECORATED SPINACH-GREEN JADE BOWL
19TH CENTURY
The bowl has deep rounded sides flaring slightly at the rim, supported on a short slightly spreading foot. Decorated all over in gilt, the centre of the interior depicts a dragon surrounded by four further dragons, all chasing flaming pearls amongst clouds. The exterior is decorated with a band of stylised lotus blooms borne on leafy tendrils between a pair of lotus lappet bands. The stone is of a dark green tone with darker speckles.
6¾ in. (17.1 cm.) diam.
