A MUGHAL-STYLE WHITE JADE BOWL
19TH CENTURY
With rounded sides, the interior of the bowl is finely and naturalistically carved with a mallow bloom with overlapping petals. The exterior of the mouth rim is encircled by a band of chrysanthemum flower heads and curled leaves suspending loose rings. The base is carved with a large chrysanthemum bloom bearing elaborate petals rising up to the sides of the bowl, with details incised to simulate the natural texture of the flower. The stone is of a pale tone.
