A Berlin (K.P.M.) two-handled portrait vase and cover
campana-shaped, painted in colours with a quarter-length portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II, turning to his left, wearing military uniform on a green ground, within an oval gilt panel among gilt scrolling foliage issuing gilt C-scrolls below the rim and painted in colours with swags of flowers, the revesre with a WR II monogram below a crown enriched in two-tone gilt below a flared rim moulded with foliage, the lower section moulded with flowers among foliage issuing from foliate handles enriched in gilt and painted with blue scale panels, painted with scattered sprigs of flowers, the fluted stem moulded with flowerheads above an octagonal foot gilt with a broad band, the fluted slopping cover painted with blooms and moulded and gilt with C-scroll, the finial formed as a putto supporting a scrolling sheild among flowers, blue sceptre, orb and printed 1763-1913 150th anniversary marks, impressed marks and painted numeral 83 -- 17½in. (44.5cm.) high, early 20th century
