A Meissen group of putti emblematic of the Senses
the central figure standing holding a telescope to one eye and holding eye glasses, flanked by two standing putti, one holding a bell and pipe, the other holding a parrot which is pecking his face, at their feet two seated putti, one sniffing a bloom from a basket at his feet, the other holding fruit, all loosely drapes, on a high mound base moulded and gilt with scrolling foliage, painted in colours and gilt, blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 23, incised 1770 -- 5½in. (14cm.) high, circa 1900 (some small chips)
