With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised steel indexes in 1940 and its subsequent sale 28 March 1941.

Manufacture of reference 1485 was launched in 1940 and is so far known only in stainless steel. The case was designed in the attempt to render it water-resistant by using the sliding sides. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 151.
