Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe servicing tag.

The present watch is in excellent overall condition following its servicing at one of Patek Philippe's workshops. The case of this watch was not born with the movement, hence no Extract can be obtained.

While many dial designs were available for reference 96, the present watch dial comes with exquisite detail. It features not only Breguet numerals, but also small inlaid pearly markers inside the outer railway minute divisions. This subtle mix of styles, allowing for both beady as well as railway minute markings, gives the watch face a very simple, yet sophisticated feel. The watch on offer is one of only around three dozen reference 96 watches in steel known to have a dial with Breguet numerals.
