Descriptif du lot

The attractive black honeycomb dial of the present reference 6564 bears the rare printing "Deepsea" on it. This special designation was not often used and for a short time only, most notably on some watches that had participated at one of oceanographer and pioneer Jacques Picccard's diving trials with the bathyscaph "Trieste" in the Mediterranean Sea. The designation "Deepsea" was no used for many years until it was re-introduced by Rolex in 2008 for its Sea-Dweller Deepsea.
