Gilt-finished half-plate chain fusée movement, spring detent escapement, large bimetallic compensation balance, free sprung blued steel helical hairspring, diamond endstone, gold cuvette engraved Presented to Captain William Watts by the Underwriters of the steamer "Lady Wodehouse" as a mark of their appreciation for the seamanship displayed by him on 24th & 25th January 1875, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, two subsidiary dials for 24 hour power reserve and constant seconds, circular case, ribbed band, engine-turned back, case and cuvette stamped with casemaker's initials TH and London date letter for 1865-66, dial and movement signed and numbered
