AN EXTENSIVE SPODE STONE-CHINA DINNER-SERVICE
CIRCA 1820-30, BLUE PRINTED SPODE STONE CHINA AND IMITATION CHINESE SEAL MARKS, IRON-RED PAINTED PATTERN NO. 2857
Printed in blue and painted in overglaze enamels with Chinese pavilions amongst shrubbery and rockwork within an eight-pointed panel reserved against a band of whorls, the border with diaper pattern and stylised flowers, heightened in gilt, comprising: two oval soup tureens, covers and stands, four square vegetable tureens and covers, four sauce-tureens, covers and stands, a square bowl, a tree-and-well meat plate and pierced drainer, three oblong deep serving dishes, nineteen platters in seven sizes, twenty-two soup plates, forty-three starter/dessert plates and fifty-two dinner plates
