MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The cylindrical cup is carved to the sides with a horizontal band of stylised dragons upon a key-fret ground. The rim is carved with a further key-fret pattern band. The side is carved with a dragon-head and scroll handle. The base is carved with two characters 'Yong Bao, translating 'Eternal Treasure'. The stone is of a mottled grey tone with dark grey inclusions.
