A LANDSCAPE ALBUM IN THE STYLE OF A COURT ARTIST
19TH CENTURY
Ink and colour on paper. With yellow silk brocade covers and wooden boards inscribed Wan You Tong Chun Ce translating Spring of Ten Thousand Things". The album comprises ten double-leaf paintings mounted on board depicting mountaneous river landscapes in spring. All with calligraphic inscriptions and various seals including apocryphal Qianlong and Jiaqing seals. Painted in the style of court artist Dong Gao (1740-1818).
Each double-leaf painting 10 3/4 in. x 8 1/4 in. (27.2 cm. x 20.8 cm.)
