A PALE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF AN ELEPHANT WITH BOYS
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-95)
It is carved as a standing elephant with its head turned to the side and a boy climbing on its back holding a ruyi sceptre. Another boy stands by its head carrying a branch. Its caparison is carved in low relief with bats in flight. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with russet veins and inclusions.
