REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-49)
Each decorated with one of the four famous Chinese opera singers of the Republican period: Mei Lanfang, Cheng Yanqiu, Shang Xiaoyun and Xun Huisheng; all dressed in female roles, standing on clouds and two on foaming waves, variously below bats, a crane, a peacock and butterflies. Original wood frames.
