A PAIR OF LARGE AUBERGINE ANHUA-DECORATED DRAGON BOWLS
17TH CENTURY
The bowls are each potted with rounded sides and are raised on a short foot. They are decorated to the exterior in anhua with dragons in pursuit of the flaming pearl, the interior, exterior and base are covered in a thick aubergine glaze stopping short at the foot rim.
10.5/8 in. (27 cm.) diam.
Provenance
A Private European Collection acquired in England and France in the 1960s-1990s.
Acquired in France in 1989.
