TWO JADE SEALS, A 'CHICKEN-BLOOD' SEAL AND A HARDSTONE SEAL
19TH / 20TH CENTURY
The first is a cylindrical white and russet jade seal surmounted by a lion finial, the seal is carved with the characters Da Ya. The second is a square moss green jade seal surmounted by a chilong, carved with characters Shuaiyou Jiaze that may be translated as 'To follow the meritless rules'. The third is a rectangular russet hardstone seal surmounted by a xiezhi holding a double linghzi fungus in its beak. The fourth is a 'chicken-blood' stone seal, carved with the characters Lengyan Rechang translating 'Cold Eyes, Hot Guts'.

From a Private East Asian collector (d.1994). The first: Acquired in 1991.
The fourth: Acquired in 1974 from Pan Huiping.
