A BROWN SILK FORMAL COURT ROBE FOR AN IMPERIAL DUKE, JIFU
LATE 19TH CENTURY
It is embroidered with nine gilt dragons amidst clouds, bats, cranes, Peking knot emblems and roundels, with peacock feather details above waves. The borders are embellished with lishui stripes.
