FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, another following in 1795. As the title states, Turgot was Comptroller General of the Finances of France from 1774 to 1776. Although not an orthodox physiocrat himself, he appointed Dupont de Nemours as his assistant. His Reflections consisted of ahundred paragraphs, the first seven of which attempt to prove that agriculture alone increases the wealth of the nation. Goldsmiths' 15566; Kress B.2628.
