These charming leaves are a fine example of the texts and images that were produced so successfully to satisfy the demands of the English market. The style of illumination shows the marked influence of Willem Vrelant, one of the most influential illuminators working in Bruges during the third quarter of the 15th century. Closely related to the present miniatures are two leaves in the Philadelphia Free Library, EM 10:11 and EM 10:12. Note that additional leaves from this Book of Hours are included in lot 215.
