THE FIRST PUBLICATION TO PROVIDE SYSTEMATIC, MEASURED AND UNIFORMLY SCALED ILLUSTRATIONS OF ROMAN PALACES built between the 15th and the 17th century. Volume I first appeared in 1655, while a late issue by Domenico de Rossi appeared at the beginning of the 18th century. Volume II was originally published 1670-78.
