AN INDIAN SOLID ROSEWOOD AND CANED ARMCHAIR
LATE 19TH / EARLY 20TH CENTURY, PROBABLY GOA
Carved overall with foliage, the toprail centred by a winged trophy and carved inscription 'POUR LE ROI ET LA LOI', the arms carved as eagles with hooked beaks and with a red leather buttoned squab cushion, on X-frame supports joined by stretchers
37½ in. (96 cm.) high; 27½ in. (70 cm.) wide; 37 in. (92 cm.) deep

George Elliott Browning, who reputedly lived in Goa at the end of the 19th century.
