Of George II style, the rectangular bevelled plate within a paterae and ribbon-twist edge and flowerhead-adorned surround, within a foliate-tip border flanked to the sides by husks, surmounted by a swan neck pediment with egg-and-dart edge, the shaped apron decorated with paterae, volutes and floral scrolls, centred by a shell, written in chalk 'ANTEROOM' to the reverse, stencilled 'BW' and 'TROLLOPE & SONS' with label to the reverse 'L.K/268/82' twice

Provenance
Almost certainly acquired by the Very Rev. Oswin Harvard Gibbs-Smith (d.1969), Archdeacon of London and Canon Residentiary of St Pauls, 1947 - 1961, for the Chapter House, St. Paul's Cathedral, where it was recorded in an unpublished photograph in the second half of the 20th century.
