Lot Essay

The subject on the front of the vase at right is after the painting Première rêverie by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (French, 1825-1905) and now in the Cummer Museum of Art, Jacksonville, Florida. The panel to the reverse of the other vase is after the painting Cupid Disarmed by Emile Munier (French, 1840-1895).
