The Parisian bronzier and fondeur G. Servant produced a diverse inventory from his premises at 137, rue Vieille-du-Temple. Specializing in Egyptian and Greek Revival pieces, he was a medallist at the major international exhibitions between 1867 and 1887.
A garniture of the same model was sold Christie's, South Kensington, 7 February 2001, lot 123 (£22,325).
