Inverted pear shape, the kettle cast and chased in high relief on one side with a scene of Alexander with the daughters of Darius and on the other a scene of a Queen in her court surrounded by soldiers and courtiers, applied under the ivory insulated handle with a bust of Hendrik Hooft, after Hoffinger de Wespin, the stand with openwork fruiting foliage scrolls and birds, on three cast dragon feet, the central lamp with later detachable cover, marked near handle, on cover, finial and stand
