Lot Essay

Pendentif en ivoire en forme de sifflet votif géométrique présentant une partie supérieure rectangulaire et incurvée, percée de deux orifices. La partie inférieure est en forme de croissant. D'après A. Fisher, "certains hommes Lobi importants arboraient [cet] ornement thungbubiel, aux fêtes et aux funérailles. Il s'agit d'un objet rare, autrefois fabriqué en peu d'exemplaires et qui pouvait coûter un boeuf, plus un grand nombre de coquilles de porcelaine."
