CIRCLE OF THE GALLI APPRONTATI, CIRCA 600-550 B.C.
In the form of a recumbent doe, with a long tapering neck, the legs folded under, the short triangular tail centered on the broad rump, the neck open at the top, serving as the vessel mouth, the separately-made head serving as the stopper, with erect ears and a narrow muzzle; details in brown including rows of stippling to indicate the fur, and red for the exterior of the ears
