A VERY RARE CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
WANLI CYCLICAL JIAYIN EIGHT-CHARACTER MARK, CORRESPONDING TO 1614, AND OF THE PERIOD
Of circular form, the cover is decorated with two three-clawed dragons surrounding a lotus blossom amidst clouds, above a narrow band of blue clouds on the sides. The sides of the box are decorated with two dragons in pursuit of a lotus bloom, all in translucent enamels of blue, amber pink and mauve tones reserved on a mottled green ground.
