A FINE LANGYAO RED-GLAZED VASE, GUANYIN ZUN
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The slender waisted body has high-shoulders and stands on a stepped foot rim, below a slightly waisted cylindrical neck with gentle flared rim. It is covered with a crackle-suffused glaze of intense crushed strawberry tone thinning to pale beige-celadon towards the rim. The base is covered in a similar, pale celadon crackled glaze.
17 3/4 in. (45 cm.) high, Japanese wood box.
