A RARE GILT-SPLASHED BRONZE VASE
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH/17TH CENTURY
The pear-shaped vase stands on a short splayed foot ring rising to a flaring mouth, and is cast with two coiling chilong handles on the shoulders. It is boldly decorated with irregular splashes of gilt all around the exterior, and incised with an apocryphal Xuande mark on the base.
