Lot Essay

US$23,000-30,000

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present lot with silvered dial and raised gold indexes in 1987 and its subsequent sale on 3 December 1987.

Reference 3945 was in production from 1985 until 1998, and is a variant of the celebrated reference 3940. Whereas the case of reference 3940 features lugs in order to add a detachable leather or gold bracelet, reference 3945 was exclusively made with integral gold bracelet.

As its peer, reference 3945 was produced in two series, distinguished by the leap year display: the first series with sunk leap year dial, the second series showing a crossed leap year.
