With Hebrew inscription calling it the cup of the prophet Elijah, used in the Passover festival, the stem fashioned as a tree trunk with an axe-man climbing it; together with a 19th century Austrian silver lobed cup and cover loosely based on a 17th century design with Hebrew inscription indicating use as a kiddush cup and with later French import marks for 1864/93
