A RARE FRENCH 25-BORE TURN-OVER FLINTLOCK SPORTING GUN

With slender three-stage sighted barrels each with three-quarter length sighting flat and chiselled and engraved scrollwork at each breech, each breech with own priming-pan and steel, the latter each chiselled with scrollwork, signed rounded back-action lock engraved with scrollwork and a mounted figure with lance, replacement walnut butt carved with sprays of scrollwork around the lock, original full-length well figured walnut side-fillets each carved with scrollwork towards the breech (worn, old worm holes, some defects), iron mounts including trigger-guard acting as the barrel-release, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some pitting, wear and discoloration throughout)
