With swamped barrel with short sighting-flat at the breech and applied silver satyr-mask fore-sight, grooved tang, flat bevelled lock signed 'G. WARD' and engraved with scrollwork, walnut half-stock (reduced from full), grip with large diamond chequering, each diamond quartered with dots, engraved brass mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, later horn fore-end cap, and later horn-tipped ramrod (barrel heavily discoloured), faint proof marks and makers mark, the latter possibly for Robert Wilson
