Three-quarter gilt-finished jewelled English lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers on to two gongs, repeat activated through a slide in the band, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer calibrated minute track with Arabic five minute divisions, four subsidiary dials for day, date and month combined with leap year indication, phases of the moon and lunar calendar combined with subsidiary seconds, blued steel spade hands, circular polished half-hunter case, front cover with aperture to view the dial, blue enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals and inner calibrated track, movement signed and numbered, case stamped F. T. for Frederick Thoms and cuvette A. S., case stamped with London date mark for 1898
