A Satsuma bowl and a Kyoto ware Koro
Meiji period (late 19th century)
Decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on a crackled cream ground with a roundel enclosing a group of men receiving ohineri [wrapped offering] from women surrounded by further smaller roundels with male figures, the reverse with panels depicting Japanese and Chinese scenes, signed Seikozan; the koro decorated in iron-red, blue, green and aubergine enamels and gilt, with carp, metal cover in the form of a chrysanthemum
12.7cm. diam and 19cm. high respectively
