Lot Essay

R. Faulding is listed as a looking-glass manufacturer in Coventry Street, Haymarket, London from 1812-1827, first at no. 26, then at no. 23. He supplied a plain rectangular mirror of similar size to Kenwood House, Hampstead. His partner Wheeler is very likely Joseph Wheeler of Compton St, Soho, listed as carver, gilder and looking-glass merchant from 1835-1837.
