Daguerreotype, 4¾ x 3½ in. passe-partout inscribed Sabatier-Blot, palais Royal, 137 in ink on mount, modern printed paper label in German affixed to verso; two daguerreotypes and one ambrotype. (4)

Lot Essay

Including two portraits of gentlemen and a portrait of a couple.

Little is known of Sabatier-Blot who was a friend of Daguerre's and among those daguerreotypists who operated from the Palais Royal. He opened a professional studio around 1845 which lasted until at least 1851.
