Lot Essay

The pronounced and vibrant depiction of the beards and hair of the two figures is comparable to the work of the Venetian sculptors Bernardo Falconi and Orazio Marinali (see C. Semenzato, La Scultura Veneta Del Seicento E Del Settecento, Venice, 1966, nos. 12-13, 61-62, 79-82, 119).
