The artist’s return to etching, a medium he first explored in the 1920-30s, was guided by his knowledge and trust in the competence and sensibility of the Rossis at the Stamperia d’Arte 2RC, shared by many of his fellow artists. The portfolio Bees bears witness to his complete immersion in the subject matter and his regained confidence with the etching technique, which allowed his to express his observation of nature is his own, somewhat disturbing way.
