The pair cased verge pocket watch with white enamel dial, Roman numerals and gilt beetle and poker hands, the verge escapement with chain fusee, pierced and engraved balance cock , three arm balance wheel and rose-cut diamond end stone, signed John Brookbank, London, no. 982, the outer case with engine-turned and enamel border, the reverse decorated with a painted Swiss polychrome enamel classical scene depicting Venus and a muse waking Eros, within white enamel pellet border against a re-enamelled red/orange guilloché enamel ground, London hallmarks for 1778 ; the chatelaine composed of similar gold and enamelled panels decorated with classical head profiles, the top gilt panel and clip with matching oval Swiss enamel scene of Venus and muse decorating an alter,
