Lot Essay

This model depicts the S.E.5(a) (Scout Experimental 5), which was a fighter plane introduced to the Royal Flying Corps towards the end of the Great War (1914-1918). The S.E.5 was produced in great numbers by several important factories of the time including the Royal Air Factory, Vicars, Wolseley Motors and Martinsyde, with the eventual output exceeding 5000.
