A set of ten articulated soft-metal insects
Early 20th century, nine signed Kozan (Takase Kozan; 1869-1934) with cursive monogram (kao), one grasshopper signed Muneyoshi (Tanaka Tadayoshi; ?-1958)
Each insect constructed of numerous hammered parts jointed together with movable wings, limbs or antennae, each finely detailed and patinated in silver, shibuichi, shakudo and/or copper; signature on body
The largest (dragonfly): 4in. (10.2cm.) long, the smallest (bee): 2in. (5.1cm.) long
With original padded wood box sewn with cords to secure the ten insects (10)
