Lot Essay

Literature: Wedgwood Ceramics 1846-1959 by Maureen Batkin, plate 499, illustrates this model, which was made at the instruction of Norman Wilson. This bust was produced in limited quantities and then only in black basalt or white 'Moonstone'. This would therefore seem to be a particularly rare red example.
